
HIRING: MECHANICAL DESIGNER / DESIGN ENGINEER
Job Description
We are looking for a motivated Mechanical Designer / Design Engineer to join our R&D and Engineering team in Konala, Helsinki (on-site).
In this role, you will design and develop components for Oceanvolt’s electric and hybrid propulsion systems. Your work will include 3D modelling, creating 2D drawings, and maintaining product data in our PLM system. You will also support purchasing, production, and testing activities, and contribute to continuous product improvement.
We value a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and take initiative. The position offers an opportunity to work close to both design and production — seeing your work turn into real products installed on boats worldwide.
Requirements for an Ideal Candidate
• Relevant higher education degree (e.g. mechanical engineering)
• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD
• Strong technical writing skills in English
• Good understanding of GD&T specifications
• Experience with PDM/PLM systems
• Understanding of industrial processes (machining, casting, welding, anodizing, painting, etc.)
• Strong prioritization and time management skills
• Team player with good communication skills
• Active and self-driven learner
Considered as an Advantage
• Experience with the 3DExperience PLM platform
• Experience with marine equipment design, installation, or maintenance
• Experience with electrical machines (motors and generators)
• Experience with design calculations
• Experience with non-conformity reporting and corrective/preventive actions
• Experience with Jira/Confluence for task management and documentation
