The Aventura 33 was designed by Martin Defline. The Aventura 33 Hybrid is a unique catamaran combining comfort and extreme performance. The width of the multihull allows the passage of most of the inland waterways including the connection Atlantic / Mediterranean by the Canal du Midi. Since it was powered with an Oceanvolt electric propulsion system 3 years ago the Aventura 33 Hybrid has travelled 7000 miles.

“The first results surpassed all of our expectations at the shipyard, concerning speed and even the range of the system. The acceleration is obviously greater than that of a diesel engine. Moreover, with the generator reloading, you get more than 60 hours of battery life, that is to say 20 hours more than with a diesel engine, and all that without any noise!”

“I often sail with 10% power (speed 3,6 knots) when the weather is very nice. Autonomy is then 8 hours and there is no noise to enjoy paradise !

The acid batteries in my boat give me following autonomies :
Power 20% 5 hours speed 4,6 knots
Power 30 % 3 hours speed 5,4 knots
Power 40 % 1 hour 50 min 5,7 knots
Power 60 % 1 hour 6,2 knots

When I must go fast, I use the generator and 50% power to archive a speed of 6,2 knots for 4 liters of diesel per hour. The max speed of the boat is 8,2 knots with power 100%.”
