In the early 2000s, Finnish entrepreneur Janne Kjellman set out to revolutionize marine propulsion. Frustrated with the noise, inefficiency, and environmental impact of traditional diesel engines, he envisioned a cleaner, quieter alternative. As a lifelong sailor and electric vehicle enthusiast, Janne founded Oceanvolt in 2004, driven by the belief that electric propulsion could transform boating without compromising performance.

His philosophy was simple yet powerful: we should leave the planet as it was or better for our children.
