HIRING: MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Oceanvolt is a leading company in engineering and manufacturing environmentally friendly electric and hybrid propulsion systems for boats. As a Mechanical Engineer, your main responsibility will be mechanical engineering and 3D modelling. Our customer range is wide, including boatbuilders, charter companies, and light ferries in commercial use. This role involves working with SolidWorks engineering tools, creating and updating 3D models. The area of design includes mechanical components, machined and casted, electrical connection boxes, and MMI equipment (levers and displays).

The Mechanical Engineer is a member of the Customer Success team here at our premises in Helsinki, Finland and reports to the Head of Customer Success. Please note, this is a temporary position at the start, with the potential for extension based on performance and business needs.

Your secondary role is to assist in the Customer Success team and act as a service backup where you ensure customer satisfaction by providing technical support. Tasks related to this role include handling warranty and service cases, providing customer support on-site, which may require traveling, and developing service processes.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Creating and updating SolidWorks models
  • Mechanical engineering work
  • Creating and updating related documentation for the products
  • Prototyping using a 3D printer and hands-on assembly in the production
  • Designing circuit boards
  • Working in close cooperation with sales, production and customer support
  • Searching for possible suppliers and maintaining contact with them during the development process

Requirements of an Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven five (or more) year track record from successful R&D engineering positions
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant education
  • Ability to create mechanical 3D models with SolidWorks
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) and experience working in an international environment
  • Customer service-oriented
  • Excellent planning and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure or in a stressful environment
  • Passionate about developing sustainable solutions and smart innovations
  • Quality-focused

Considered an Advantage:
