Oceanvolt ServoProp 25kW

The propulsion unit integrates essential components, such as the motor controller, propeller blade control, and liquid cooling system. This compact design minimizes weight and space requirements, eliminates the need for additional seawater inlets or outlets, and simplifies the installation process.

The system is powered by a low-voltage (48V DC) battery pack, which is inherently safer compared to high-voltage alternatives. The motor's efficient design provides up to 30 kW of peak power, suitable for sailboats ranging from 45 to 70 feet in length and weighing up to 25 tons.

The ServoProp 25 excels in hydrogeneration, producing approximately 1 kW at 6 knots, 3 kW at 8 knots, and 5 kW at 10 knots. Propeller blade adjustments allow users to balance power generation and drag, automatically adapting to speed fluctuations and battery charge levels.

Safety mechanisms include a fail-safe break-off feature to prevent hull leaks in case of collisions. The saildrive also has an integrated rope cutter to manage debris. Maintenance is straightforward with easy access to the motor, blade adjustment mechanism, and cooling system from inside the boat without requiring a lift-out.

The integration with monitoring systems like Victron VRM allows real-time on-board and remote control of system operations. These interfaces provide users with detailed performance statistics and simplified system management for optimal operation.

The saildrive unit can be installed with the propeller facing either forwards or backwards. Forward-facing propeller installation increases both propulsion and hydrogeneration efficiency compared to traditional setups.
