Navalia 650 Sloop

Navalia 650 Sloop

My boat is a Navalia 650 aluminium sloop equipped with an Oceanvolt AX8 motor and a 14 kWh battery pack. I needed a boat to take my family on short day trips in the lake area of Finland. A dutch sloop provides enough space and a strong hull also for shallow rocky waters.

We made the final installation work on the motor system during spring and had the first test and certification run early summer. The electric motor from Oceanvolt provides the final touch through silent, emission free cruising and no need for dirty fuelling operations. The performance of the motor system is exactly as predicted on our resistance and performance calculations. The boat can easily make 6 to 7 knots and the range is enough to my requirements.

It is really enjoyable to cruise in the lakes and small rivers when there is no noise and vibration from the motor. Harbour manoeuvring is easy and relaxed thanks to the quiet and dynamic performance. Charging is quick even from my lake side summer house's relatively weak power network. Next summer I plan to build a solar panel charging system as the boat is laying in the dock over weekdays. Would be cool to cruise around 100% on solar power! – Owner of the Navalia 650 Sloop

The Dutch built Navalia 650 is a classically designed aluminum rescue sloop suitable for six people or more. The open aluminum boat is made of modern and durable materials. Thanks to the high-quality aluminum, this sloop is very low-maintenance, so rust and paints are a thing of the past.
