OVNI 430

As far as we’re concerned, we’re very happy with our hybrid solution on the OVNI430. The sound of silence as we manoeuver in the ports or with motor-sailing, is quite pleasant. The instant availability of propulsion is an important safety feature for us. – Owner of the Alubat OVNI 430 "Noranna"

The OVNI 430, featured in a recent review by Yachting World, offers a new perspective on the concept of a successful sailing yacht. This hybrid electric vessel, weighing in at 14 tonnes, defies expectations by showcasing impressive sailing performance, particularly in light airs. The addition of an extra chine in the hull design reduces wetted surface area, enhancing stability and responsiveness, even in low wind conditions.

Notably, the OVNI 430 is the first model equipped with hybrid propulsion by Oceanvolt. During a test sail, the electric motor provided a significant boost, doubling the boat's speed to 4.4 knots in wind conditions less than four knots. The hybrid arrangement, powered by a 23.2kWh lithium-ion phosphate battery bank, allows for a silent motorsailing experience, with a range-extending 11kW Fischer Panda diesel generator available when needed.
