Famous rap artist and poker pro become the first owners of the Q30 electric day cruiser
Oceanvolt & Q-Yachts are thrilled to announce that the most successful rap-artist in Finland, Jare Tiihonen (alias Cheek) and Jens Kyllönen (former professional poker player) have become the first happy owners of the Finnish built, fully electric Q30 day cruiser.
“We are confident that this is the beginning of something big. We are very pleased to have two young friends who appreciate the unique values which Q-Yachts stands for and who like our design, as our first owners”, says Oceanvolts & Q-Yachts founder, Mr. Janne Kjellman.
Having worked “in stealth mode” with the Q-Yachts project for several years, Q-Yachts has only a few months ago released to the market the unique concept of a silent electric motorboat, which can reach moderate speeds with sufficient range to meet the needs of the day cruiser market. Q30 is a fully functional concept with charging done with normal 220V/10A power (which you can find at any marina, or at home at your summer cottage).
The Q-Yachts project was conceived with the clear vision of bringing to the market a unique boat which can offer the same experience of speed, relaxed “sailing” and silence, that you will experience when sailing a performance day cruiser sailing yacht. The goal has also been to develop a boat which is easy to use and own, and which puts the focus on enjoying “the ride” with minimal hassle. Hence the Q30 boasts with features/properties such as: minimal maintenance, easy to use custom App installed in the iPad supplied with the boat, the boat can be transported on a trailer, the boat fits into a 40’ container (for longer shipment).
The heart of the Q-Yachts concept, however, is the silence. Thanks to the state-of-the-art AXC20 electric propulsion technology supplied by Oceanvolt and the hydrodynamically optimized hull, the boat produces minimal noise and wake. This means that you can actually speak with a normal voice while driving. Hence, the journey truly becomes the destination!
Ever since Jare and Jens came out for the first test drive, it has been clear that the unique concept of Q-Yachts and the stunning looks of the Q30, are something which really appeals to a broader public than just traditional boating people. Therefore Q-Yachts goal is to reach a market position such as Tesla has in the electric car market. Q-Yachts, the Tesla of the Seas?
